Way to pull the trigger on that new tube, Dick! Congratulations on the purchase, and may you put it to good use many times this season.

David I just ordered the Classic Accessories Cumberland. How did you like your float tube.

Way to go Jen,  I fish out of a classic accessories kennebac float tube.  It can handle my size.  I had it for 4 years and it has payed for itself.  I like the way the float tube becomes part of the fishing environment.  I finesse fish with small jigs and plastics.  I catch a lot of bluegill and crappie and bass in farm ponds and a golf course lake.   I definitely think a float tube is the way to go.

I have Dwayne; I have their brochure sitting before me now. I could go with one, if it presented itself. It would depend on what comes available when the money is there.

As for me, I like the "look" of the Native Watercraft Ultimate's - sleeker and more 'seamanlike.' I dont know, that sounds kinda silly, doesn't it?.

But the lines appeal to me. It is also has some good features the NuCanoe does not, in particular the seat.

In the end, I'd be glad to have either ... and a place to piddle them around in.

Yeah greg, I kind of see it the same way as your friend. I dont think it would suit me, either. I know folks who love it... my guess is its what they know.

I have a friend who fly fished from one of these once and he said never again!!! It can done, but paddle and fly rod, not easily!!!! You can move about with you flippers and still cast with ease!!!!!!

Well, I'm a boat kinda person, after all. Tubes intrigue me, I'll allow that. I'd like to try one - third down the line after I "boat up" this year.

For me, I just like something reasonably substantial under my arse. I imagine this comes from my Naval years and a lifelong appreciation for boats, themselves. There is something sublime about them, I suppose... something I find lacking in rubber tubes, nylon fabric and swim fins.

I tend to agree with you on the flyrodding issue, Jen - mostly because I'm not really compelled by feather-and-tinsel fishing. But I have to disagree at the same time, since plenty of people DO fly fish from these and do so successfully.

Like with most things, it is what you make yourself grow accustomed to. Im just glad you guys let me hang out around here, so's I can learn some. LOL

Looks good David. Not suitable for flyrodders tho
