Do you love big bluegill?

North Carolina and Virginia share this vast swamp which is one of the seven greatest in the world.......Picture yourself out here with a fly rod or your favorite ultralight......

The group had great dialogue on "catch and release" beliefs and theories.....I just hope we as a group show the same passion about places like this because you can't replace them when they're gone......I never have to catch many fish to enjoy an outing because of the setting......You just wander if George Washington caught a bluegill when he passed through this lake.........

Jeffrey I can imagine that. Great picture as always.

Don't do it David....Mother Nature made this picture, not a camera.......A natural lake discovered in the 1600s.....the only enemy here is low oxygen from time to time depending on rainfall and other weather impacts such as hurricanes and forest fires.....Lake is surrounded by remote Cypress swamps so it's full of Bald Eagles and Black Bears to name a few......Can you say apex predators.....longnose gar and bowfin are plentiful with a deepest point of six to eight feet......

Not far from Suffolk, Virginia Jim.....on the shores of Lake Drummond.....This 112.000 acres , 3.100 of it being Lake Drummond, has been free of Cypress logging since legislation passed in North Carolina and Virginia in 1974...I'm so glad I'll be able to take my grandchildren out here to see these creations!
