Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

the bite was on fish were less than 6ft deep and scattered. middle class fish today 7 to 8.25" all on Gulp chartreuse 1" minnow and pink maggot drop shotting.

i agree with you Tony as far back as i could remember back when i was a teen with the cottage on the lake i owned the lake after labor day... it was amazing the difference in boat traffic.

Dick... i agree... ice fished gills the best!

I agree with Tony bluegills taste better caught in cold water not just gills but to me any fish.

I'll take colder water bluegills over warm water bluegills any day. The fish themselves taste even better, there are no bugs to deal with ,and if you fish public water there is usually less lake traffic,

But most of all, these days I just get more personal satisfaction from locating and catching cold water gills. I appreciate the challenge much more than I do when targeting warm water fish.

i like to get on the water when the water takes that big drop into the sixties. all sunfish including bass seem to put that heavy feedbag on!

I'm from Michigan just like you Carl! we are thick skinned. Ive have fished in a boat with my guides icing up and snowing. its just so disappointing to see summer patterns end so quickly this year. our open water fishing season is short enough already!

My phone said 51 degs but real feel was 47. The wind was biting. But so we're the fish.
