Nice Mount there Joel and good paint job on it. That's a big part of the mount is the paint job, looks like you got a good one.

It's actually a hybrid bluegill. That means it's a mix between a male bluegill and a female green sunfish. It was 15 inches long, 3 inches wide and weighed 5 pounds.

Beautiful mount. How do you preserve them so a taxadermist can get to the fish before it spoils? Imagine the possible monsters and record holders when Lake Matthew opens up to the public in a year or so. There were reports if our ex-presidents hauling out monsters of crazy proportions there. Imagine the panfish of that place since it got isolated for so long.

I caught him on a 1/32 oz tube insert head with a 1 1/2 inch rubber tube with a skirt. Kinda looks like a small octopus. The bait was an off white cream color.
