Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Decent hybrid Bluegill, not one of the largest but I was happy with it for January. 9.5" long, 15.4 ozs.

Then you're basically ice fishing, minus the ice!

Thanks everyone! I caught these fish on a Fiskas 2.5mm tungsten jig, tipped with a beemoth and suspended below a slip float. The wind did not make my job any easier.

Jim, I checked the temp in one pond, it was 37 degrees at a depth of 2'

I consider that a trophy hybrid at almost a pound! Great winter catch! What is your water temperature?

Nice January Hybrid Tony.....Sounds like you had to tough out the conditions to wet a line.....but you hung in there and caught dinner and a few chunks!

Nice fat gill Tony you'll have to give me your secrets. Looking at your pole it's not telling me much as to what you caught them with although I see a float so I'm assuming maybe live bait.
