New place

Ok guys (and girls) need a little input. My new lake house has a nice big deck on the back of the house.

I’m going to redo the steel with metal studs so I can add paneling. Build brick flower bed and repaint support. My question is the deck it self. I need to stain it, seal it or something.

What can I put down that will look good and last a long time. Remember…

Just Think

Tell me why are we using a $7.65 lura to catch a $1.16 per pound fish.

Cost per pound of a pond. Stocking cost, feed, pumps, water treatment and electrical.

The fish I catch and eat comes to $7.45 per pound. No wounder we lie about the weight.

Fly Fishing Kind of

Ok I don't have a fly rod there no way I could ever get that down. But tonight I tied a small fly on my reel. Use my small bobber as the extra weight to cast it out. Three cast three gills. Watching them hit the top of the water to get this little thing was nice. One less thing on the bucket list. Who said old dogs can't learn new tricks

If the pond is full of minnows, why would they bite the one on the hook? Are there no minnows in the middle of the pond? Is that where the bass stay? I know nothing about bass

That's why I got a trotline and I'm removing all the catfish from my pond. The bass don't ever bite, I must not have the right technic for bass. Would like to see one, and see how big it's grown.

sorry it took me over a year to get back to you. I have a 3/4 acre pond which the grandkids fish and through the fish back. My pond has Bluegills, Sunfish, Bass and catfish. There is also a few crappies a few perch and a couple walleye. Last year I put in 12 hybred strippers, i wanted to see what they would do. I buy 6 gallons of fathead minnows a year to feed the fish. I also have 8 white amers to control the vegatation and they do a great job. I have been trying to get some info on coppernose bluegills wondering if they would make it through our winters. Thanks for your interest.  Keep in touch.
