Richard sounds like a good place to stop and try nothing wrong with Gills and crappies.
just found out my local pond at the park is loaded with gills crappies and cats they fished all the bass out of it and its 2min from the house.plus there is a huge play ground so my granddaughters could play when they get bored

Knives?! No no no no..manual hedge trimmers/scissors. You can even file down the sharp ends to prevent impaling. Of course, if they cut themselves with the scissors in the past, there's no way to prevent them cutting themselves with these.
Yea I didn't think of that but I'd be worried then flaying around knives or whatever they have to do to cut them down.
Remember, $20/per for young 'uns to chop down the tall reeds will build their characters, and of course, clearance for your fishing pleasure.
