Thanks David. I don't think the Bluegill population could have made it this far without the heavy cover.

Deep heavy cover is were the big gills are, pulling them out is the trick.

Shimanos....yes sir , my favorite reel.  Most of my open water reels are Shimanos.

I agree, I have all Shinanos and they have never broke, from bait casters to spinning reels. I have several old cx2000 and still working great.

Shimanos are hard to beat,Tooty. I have an old tx110 that has caught a lot of fish and I finally retired it a couple of years ago. I also have several other Shimano's that I really like. I went to a Pfluger last year looking for a smaller profile reel than what Shimano offered.

HEY DILLY ,
The Only thing I would tell you about reels is that I"ve been using Shimanos for years since the quit making Penn's outta metal. I like the Sedona's and next step up from them also. Good reel for the money and haven't had a bail spring fail yet.

Thanks Tooty for the invite.  I always fish a round cover.  I fish around weeds and shot jigs under low tree branches from my float tube.  I am still trying to figure out a weedless 1/32 oz jig.  With this new hand held fish finder I can side scan and look for fish in weeds.  I am anxious to try it out and decide the best way to deploy it.

I need to get an new ultra lite reel, any suggestions?

Dilly

HEY VINCE, YOU AND I BOTH would like to have one of those tails , but man those folks down there are crazy about the white squirrels and ya better not run over one cause you are in a heap of trouble!!!!!!!!! THE ONLEY people are different buddy and cherish those tree rats there.......

I have fished Southern IL. quite a bit from 2002 to 2004. The farm pond fishing in and around Fairfield - Albion is nothing short of incredible. I would like to have a tail or two from those albino Squirrles that are so prevalent in Olney.

Yup Leo it still is a prime spot and am going back there this year sometime in May around the time Old Al and I are going to Jeffrey's .........Probabaly late May down to southern Illinois were this spot is......
