Purchased 2 new Humminbird finders. Helix 7 G2N and a Helix 12 G2N. Waiting on a new trolling motor. I want the new Ultrex 80 24volt but can't see the money they want for it now. Will keep checking on prices hopefully I can get one by spring. If anyone should happen to see any deals keep me in mind. Got my new trolling motor last week. Not all I need is warmer weather so I can get these things installed in the boat. Oh, and watching a lot of youtube to better familiarize myself with the 2 finders at least.

Anybody ever use these conversion kits? The manual augers are beginning to hurt my shoulders, arthritis in each, and I'd like to go to some kind of power auger. I can't afford to spend $400 or $500…Continue

I found the youtube video very helpful when I bought my ICE 35 flasher .
Dick ,The hummingbird ICE 35 is a fine flasher and I enjoy using it . I've gotten three seasons so far out of it ,helps keep me focused on the zone to fish in . Good purchase at about 300 bucks. Have not really gone deeper than 25 feet with it to find fish . The Eagle open water Fish ID is set up portably on my boat .I have the transducer mounted on a board that I C clamp to my stern .Ha ha ,really high tech here man!
By the way Dick, did you daisy chain it through an ethernet cable? Unfortunately, unlike the Lowrance units, where you can attach them directly, you have to get the extra communication hub for the multi-units for Humminbird. Rip-off.
No problem Carl. It's better to visually see things done rather than fumbling around with instruction complexity.

Basics on the humminbird
last week;; Leo; sent me a u-tube type thing;; on how my unit works;; how to utilize; my unit;; a LOT better than reading instructions!! shows a { hands on} how to!!! THANKS LEO!!
Wow Leo your already teaching me stuff. Had no idea you could patch your phone into the unit very interesting. Both my units have GPS one external and the other internal.
Great idea for this group dick !!!!!!! Glad to be in it ........
Ken, yes, it as a GPS capable unit. However, you need to shell out another $100 to get the GPS receiver, which I use my phone to do, rather than the GPS unit. I linked it between the unit's ethernet and microUSB port to mock a DOS-like recorder method. Just as good. After a while, I fish without synching the GPS and depth info on the fishfinder. I stick with GPS only, and mark the structures using my phone to record the info on Lite Engine Google Maps to share with others.
Looks like a nice outfit John. I have the Vexilar FL12. I bought the unit before I retired so I would have all my toys for my fishing needs. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but I keep the battery charged and ready to go. WELCOME JOHN..
