Good Fishing In Alabama In Mild Weather 12/2012 2 Replies

I had the tremendous opportunity to do a little fishing while visiting my mother in Alabama. The weather was great, snakes were in hideout mode, the banks were pretty safe. My cousin took me to this…Continue

I get it - yes, most definitely. Also, I have a seat box with telescoping legs (no joke) that I can put in the water and then it has a fold-down foot plate that I can place just above the water for my feet - I could technically do that 3 feet from their shore...

As long as we keep our feet wet. Of course, the downside is when you have to crawl under their docks and your waders fill over the top with water. Also when the boats motor by or jet skis, then their waves swamp the seat box- have had this happen, then the boat is a much better option. I think it is better to be on top of the waves than in them.

I get it for sure I was just josh'n about the rope to the tree on shore.

Yes, but Johnny in a lake community I can pull up to someones back yard from the water right up to thier shore ,anchor, and essentially make like a bank fisherman without trespassing ! I "bank" fish that way too without getting  arrested or yelled at .LOL.

Try the ATM...

Seriously there are only two reasons to be in a boat- one, to escape to an island ahead of a natural disaster (evacuations) and fishing. Although since this is bank busters, you have to throw a line up to a tree on shore...

@ Joe - the bank wasn't working huh? LOL

Comment by Joe Hinton on January 30, 2012 at 7:14pm

Since trying from the bank wasn't working so well , decided to venture out a bit. had some pretty good luck.

Im with you Mr. Sheehan. And also, there is this:

"Is it so nice as all that?" asked the mole, shyly...

"Nice? It's the only thing," said the Water Rat Solemnly, as he leaned forward for his stroke. "Believe me, my young friend, there is nothing -- absolutely nothing -- half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats."

"Simply messing...about in boats -- or with boats... In or out of 'em it doesn't matter. Nothing seems to matter, that's the charm of it. Whether you get away, or whether you don't; whether you arrive at your destination or whether you reach somewhere else, or whether you never get anywhere at all, you're always busy, and you never do anything in particular; and when you've done it there's always something else to do, and you can do it if you like, but you'd much better not."

"Look here! If you've really nothing else on hand this morning, supposing we drop down the river together and have a long day of it.?"  ~~ from "The Wind in The Willows,"  Kenneth Grahame.

For acess to the shoreline Johnny because when you live in a lake community ,you can't just trapse through any and everyones yard to go fishing .When you're on the water in a boat there's no place you can't go.

I love the bank busters, but I have one question, why would you fish out of a boat?

Fishing from the bank is the tops and is also the best way to catch fish.

Ha ha , I 'm full of stupid suggestions .I am delirious from not fishing for over a month .Don't pay attention to what I say until I'm feeling better Dwayne.
