A good way to find ponds 7 Replies

I'll admit, I'm lazy.  Why expend a lot of effort and gas trying to find ponds, when all you have to do is open up Google Earth, zoom in on your area, and start looking?I know that I've found a LOT…Continue

Oh and nice daytime Bullhead .Use to catch them at the dam at Cupsaw after dark .I would set up three rods with bell alarms and when i saw the first bat flying I would hear the 1st bell ring . Got lots of yellow Bullhead pics at my site here .A few Brown Bullies too. Vernon Valley lake has some great Yellow Bullheads but its private . July 4th years ago i fished it with brother and two nephews (Greg lives across the street from the lake). We caught Gills on Flyrods till dark and then use spinning rods for Bullheads .Got some long ones .Hotdog pieces for bait . Was ablast!

Bogue Pond. Pretty at 6am on a late May morning.

Comment by Gary Boysen on May 28, 2016 at 5:56am

Stuck on the banks this weekend, so I hit one of my favorite little ponds. Got out at 6am and tried my best to catch some bass. Had a great day but no bass for GB today. The plastics and spinners were not working for me. Not even JJ's Magic got me results. However, the nightwalkers I brought along did just fine. Pieces on a #4 bait hook under a bobber was what they wanted, so I kept serving it up all morning long. Early Friday morning on a day in late May and I was the only one fishing there today. Lucky me!!
