Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Check this bullet bobber out. I may be able to take some balsa wood and carve something out as a test. Very inventive. Perfect for the shallow during spawning periods.

We purchased some of these a few years ago from Paul to use and to give away at some of our events. They come in different sizes and work quite well. They also are fun to use. After some practice you can do some amazing things with the bobber. I think there is some videos on youtube on this bobber.

I purchased some to try out after which time I will give my opinion on them. When I looked at them on you tube I'm not going to lie they really intrigued me. Just for the purpose of fishing in front of a small weed bed and behind on the same cast.

Exactly! I want to fish close to the weed beds and tules as much as possible. Imagine the combination of zigzag back and forth, dangling the bait just above the shallow water where the beds are, yet, able to stay clear of out cropping tules, weed beds, and structures. It's going to be fun to try. I'll play with them in my pool for a wee while before heading out with them. Just high with anticipation.

Hey Leo and Dick,

I tracked your orders back to this post and wanted to say thanks for ordering!

Leo,

If you want to make some use this pattern and 1/4" thick balsa.

Cutting it out with a scroll saw is easier then carving.

Print it to scale and glue stick on with the grain.

Use sand paper to break the edges and a file to get a bit of a point.

Well now that is one hell of a guy - Paul, you are a gem. Come my next tackle order, it'll be some of yours. Thank you SIR!

Paul, thank you for your contribtion. It's a great and truly unique design. We will definitely put it to use. On top of that, Dick and I will tinker with the existing design as well to further improve the unique design. I know David will surely tinker with the image for the cut out as well, right David? Give is us any insight that you may have so we can aid you on the designs. We have no problem in providing inventors with more insights from our failures and successes of experimentation. Thanks again Paul.

You know I will Leo  - Im checking my balsa supply! Id like to use these to run lures and jigs parallel to the shore.

I made them as light as possible but heavy enough to hold a keel down so they would plane to the side and flip easily.  Shore fishing was my main focus so they can do many tricks.

When trolling: Adding a small weight to one keel will keep it from flipping allowing a little faster trolling speed. Adding wieght to the far wing makes them more stable allowing for faster speed and makes them a bit harder to flip. All said, using a larger size BulletBobber is usually better then adding weight unless you don't want it to flip at all.

Paul that is interesting  and good stuff. Is this something you thought about or did it just come to you. It's something that the average person wouldn't of thought about cause for years we casted straight and reeled straight in. The only trick was we could useis to have the wind move the float to cover that is if it were blowing in the right direction which barely ever happens. I'll be using them and really give them a good try out. Watched a few video's on you tube and was impressed so I guess the proof will be in the pudding, I'll be keeping BBG updated as I try the bullet bobbers out.

I wrote about making the first one.

I also wrote about why it is so different.

I'm with Dick... Whats behind the design? I recently mentioned an app for cell phones called "My Fishing Advisor," and the guy who developed it found us, much as you have. He told how he got the design working and its promotion, etc. So I'm very curious about these, especially what you went through getting them from design into production.

I personally would think that in lakes w/BIG fish the "working bobber" looks like a Zoro Spook bass bait.... ?? plus I think in choppy waters it would tend to change directions constantly on it's own.

Creative though.... it should have a hook on it :)~

I have a "Wing-it" bobber that is shape wise the same.. a little cut here and there I could have a premade body then just drill a hole for line ...
