Bruce sorry it took so long to get back to you but the way I do those eyes is I use Lacquer and several different size finish nails  and the trick is to just dip the head in the jar enough to caver the head then kind of  roll the head between  you finger and thump the paint will cover the nail head evenly and kind of form a round bubble and when you apply to your popper touch just the paint don't let the nail head touch the bug.  Be sure the paint is dry before put the next color on it want take long. and good luck

Hi John, how do you paint on the the eyes? Have you posted the method? Just curious, especially if it's easier than gluing the eyes.

Your welcome John. I ordered some popper bodies last week #4,#6 and #8's. I think about 300 that will keep me busy for a long while not to mention the other projects to do on my to do list. I think this winter will be pretty well booked hope I have time it really hasn't been on my side here lately..
