Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Fri. night came and went with nothing to show for eyes.
Boone,Doug,Chris,Nick Mallard and myself hit a local lake for a quick shot at eyes only we did not get a fish.
The next day we worked a tough bite .Tod showed up from Chi town along with a few other guys. It was one of those days were you really had to work hard and get lucky to find aggresive fish.

Here's Tod doing his best to tag a slab or gill.

We did manage a few and really for me it was great just to have everyone together.

Mallard got the big crappie and Boone took the big gill.

Sat. was a different....we hit a different lake and to start we struggled to locate fish but after a ton of holes we found them.We also had to move a few times with the school to stay on top of them.
We paired up in teams. The slot was 8.5"-10 on gills and 10-13" on crappies.
Chris and Nick took it with a full limit.
Chris & I split on the big slab and Lance scored with the big gill.
There were several nice slabs caught throughout the day.

guys were working hard...

Sun. was another workout.I know I drilled a good 50 holes or better for Lance Tim and Mallard.
Outside of the 1 hour I was running and gunning looking for aggresive fish.
Mallard caught the big crappie and I hit the big gill for a split.

I like the little rock bass. Big Bluegill loves rockies.

That bluegill was almost trophy status. Nice job!
As always, I'm jealous of you guys who are whacking them thru the crust!
