Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Don't laugh, these pink flies do catch as many bluegill as the yellow flies do. Have had good success with these flies this past summer

I never laugh at pink flies, for some reason pink has been a key color. I didn't have many materials that were pink, now I have lots of pink. I have a fly I tied trying to copy an electric chicken. It was a rubber grub for a jig. Pink on top chartruce on bottom, has been a killer on crappie. They don't hit it if the pink is on top. I will get one tied and up on here. Love to see new patterns.
Should have proof read my statement, They won't hit the fly if the pink is on bottom.
It has always amazed me Greg the different colors that attract bluegills. Different times of the year require different colors. That is the true joy of tying flies for 'gills. Post photos of your flies Greg, always on the lookout for new flies tie.
they look great the problem is i dont have anything pink
Stop by your local craft store Zack. They will have pink chenille and feathers to tie flies with. You can also go on line to places like Orvis, Feather Craft and Bass Pro Shops for fly tying material. When you go on line, just looking at all the material available will give you many ideas to tie different flies. Good luck in your tying.
Yellow was the winner today.
White worked well for the Crappies
