Take a look at the Drennan floats. They make them down to .5 grams Can't find a more sensitive float. The float is called a Carbo and is designed for still water fixed line fishing. They also sell them as a ready rig where the float, line shot and hook is already on a re usable rig. You can get a perfectly balanced rig down to about a size 20 hook. Lots of fun.

Thanks Joe- That's a pole float right or do you cast this float also?

The Carbo is a fixed float . Not sure if they make the casting type.

Not sure I understand you Joe .I cast both fixed and sliding floats . So what you call a fixed float ,you never cast? I never use poles , I use spinning rods/reels of different lengths.

Sorry, fixed line pole float. The Carbo is a fixed line pole float.

No apology necessary .There's a lot I don't know about regarding pole floats as I don't use poles .Why couldn't this float be used for casting also ?Trying to learn here.

I have yet to fix line fish ,Cane Poles or Tenkara rods .I always cast with UL equipment and 2# , 4# usually , and 6# test . . I would like to see a fixed line Discussion by someone here that has good experience with Telescopic Poles and Cane poles etc!

Slip look at these vids and the casting rod /spinning reel this British chap uses . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKyUeCuPDd4
