This year I hope to catch my 1st flyrod smallie ,something I've never really pursued much .Author Joseph Bates suggests buck tail and feather streamers .Any one here have some smallie flyrod experience in lakes and rivers to share ?

I did very well last year in NH fishing with two flies. One was the foxxee red clouser by Joe Cornwall of Fly Fish Ohio. The other was the Olive Willy from the website Fly Fish Food. Both flies have excellent video tutorials available.

Thanks for the input Kevin! I'll checkout the videos.

really enjoyed watching these two videos ,thanks again Kevin!

Hi the flies that I tied for Dick has a foxy clouser, the other one with the orange bead is a killer it is Hans Hans rabbit strip jig also the other one was the bronze goddess

I'll look for images of those flies Mark. I caught a smallie once on a 24th oz Black rabbit fur jig I tied so maybe I can use some of that material to  tie to a beaded nymph to throw with the flyrod .

Great tying video for the Hans Hans Rabbit strip crawfish imitation fly  .Smallies AND Carp!

thanks mark and john ,pretty much have all the components for both flies.

Here's the bronze Goddess ,Sleepy mentioned: http://www.warmwaterflytyer.com/documents/The-Bronze-Goddess.pdf

Thanks Kevin ,I will check it out too, I tie the foxy   clouser

the jawbreaker and Hans Hans rabbit strip jig are both on you tube
