Do you love big bluegill?
2014 ended up to be a very good year for me with the Crappies… my first fish of the season was a lunker crappie and the success continued through out the season. Found some great crappie locations by exploring more open water or confined open water instead of just the deep weed edges. Trying new tackle and lures… Berkley Nanofil was my number one line for the crappie. Very sensitive.
I quite possibly hooked a few friends and family members to fishing by introducing them to a good crappie bite with some good tackle. Hey that’s how my dad got me hooked… it was one crappie after another.
So im looking for a 2015 season to top 2014… and hoping to provide helpful tips that may help others as well as picking up tips along the way from this great site and its contributing members!
Note…the two fish shown on the right are Master Angler nudgers...

Slip Sinker, can you give a close-up shot of the Dominator jigs?
60 degree flat-eye. Hmmm. What kind of bend does the hook have? Standard round bend like an Aberdeen? Maybe a sickle hook?
I can copy that :) Probably not for that price, though. Might do some for myself later this year. Right now, I'm using craft fur for tails. Sparse ties, works good in cold water
It's depressing to even compare material cost with manufactured jigs, never mind labor. It's just another hobby or another facet of the hobby to make my own. A friend of mine went overboard with craft fur and told me not to buy any because he has so much extra. I need to get by there.
this is my favorite jumbo crappie lure... i believe i will catch my personal best on this jig... probably the pink and white or black... i have this feeling
There are a few strands of crystal flash in the mix that really makes this jig a killer.
check out the movement of this crappie school under the ice
