Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

This is such a great unit that ive had already for two seasons and yet each time i take it out on a trip i feel like ive learned something new. i will be posting hints tips and tricks and screenshot interpretations as i grow with this unit. hopefully we can all learn from each other on the same or similar units.

John ... i ruled out  floating structure from the simple fact alot of these fish and screen shots were taken in over 20 ft of water. my test case lake has a limit of 12 ft outside weedline where beyond that sunlight does not penetrate the bottom layer.. carls screen shot is over 20 ft. the gill in my lake when the weeds are killed off find shelter in 15 ft of water. when the sonar is on these fish beeline to the surface like a food response and fish will also collect under my boat in shallow areas as well. the school just grows. easily caught with a slip bobber

i put 2 and 2 together john when i was in simulation mode tuning up my elite 4 for ice fishing. i normally do not plug the transducer in unless it s in the water but here this time it was laying on my desk. i noticed a very audible clicking noise that was coming from the transducer. i read online this is normal at lower khz but out of our range at higher levels. fascinating. the fish here this and are responding.

My current and ongoing project... finish mapping Ross Lake

didn't get as much done as i wanted too. need to finish this before they drop the water levels for winter. very shallow reservoir always with a current though. original creek channels are defined now.
