Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I am about to move into a house for a friend and become caretaker of their property. This being said they have a small pond on the property that I have asked about taking care of as well since it has been neglected for a few years. I have no clue where to start or how I should begin. When I have an opportunity to post pics of the pond I will.

Sean, a few of us here at BBG take care of ponds, Walt Foreman does quite a bit perhaps he will chime in with some advice. In the meantime, why not drop in over at our "sister" site, PondBoss.com? Introduce yourself and jump right in....good bunch of folks, and very helpful.

What are your goals for the pond, Sean?  Those determine the approach.

Well guys I'm not entirely sure what state the pond is in. I would like to raise some giant gills but I don't know what all they have in the pond so im still not sure what I like to do. I know there are a lot of musk turtles and possibly some snappers in it. Other than that there are unspecified types of fish in it and possibly one or two grass carp.
Fish the pond with live bait until you have caught at least ten fish. Take photos of the fish and measure them, then post the info here and we'll have a better idea of how to help.

Ok guys it may be a couple weekends before im able to do that but don't worry I wont forget ya lol.
