Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Big Big thanks goes to Bill "Musky" Modica, I never would have thought to use spoons to catch my favorite fish, the mighty bluegill. But I've been hitting it hard the last two weeks because of a contest I'm in for a "partner" forum of BigBluegill.com, the Nebraska Fish and Game Association, check out the contest here.... http://www.nefga.org/forum/nebraska-fishing-forum/23623-2009-catch-...

well, I'll be honest, I was skeptical of the whole spoons for gills thing. But I bought some, and modified some I already had, and WOW!!!!! Last night I got the biggest bluegill of my life, 10.5"!!!!!!!

I'll start off with some teasers
fun lil gill on a swedish pimple

this guy went about 8"

Another decent fish on a bluefox rattleflash 1/8th oz

A FATTIE, this one went 9+"

Last night I was out fishing trying to top a 10.25" fish, my buddy and I had ordered some 1/16th oz rattlin' flash spoons, and they came in just in time.
we both caught fish, but the big fish didn't want to play. So I switched from the 1/16th oz to the bigger 1/8th oz, and Boohya!!!!

It people like those who post on this site that make the effort to expand the angling horizons of others, who deserve a big, big thumbs up!

Nice! I better finish my morning caffine and get out there.
Wow Alex!......thats a tank!
You now represent a clear and present danger to bluegill populations across Nebraska, and beyond!
Thank you for the spoon link.....it truly is a rare find.
Great success with the spoons...what was your joice to tip the spoons with....what depth were you fishing when the gills hit....
