Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I've been thinking about getting busy at the tying vice, since there is little else to do in Ohio...and working on some tube flies for Bluegill.  There is no doubt I can adapt wooly bugger type flies to a tube, but I need some inspiration from all of you.

foam type hoppers or spiders would work I think

tiny minnow patterns?

Buggy nymphs?

Post some ideas and I'll give them a try...

Well, Bill Ill be looking forward to see what you come up with. The idea sounds pretty neat.

Hi I have 2 vises a Nor-Vise and a HMH Sparten Vise the HMH has std jaws in it now,I asked my wife for Christmas to purchase the tube conversion for the vise, you just unscrew the standard jaws and screw in the tube chuck then you all set to go . the best thing with the HMH it built  10 miles from my house .I also might get the adapter so I can tie tubes on my Nor-vise later on, check out HMH vise they have a forum on tying and there is a lot of info on their sight on tube flies and other flies.  i'm  on that sight as  sleepy-trout in the forum I hope this helps out on info and a better understanding of tube fly's Ps  i'm new to  tube flies too.

Hi check out HMH vise for info, they are great people there , i'm lucky they are 10 miles from my house. I just set my HMH like the one Brad Miller was showing in his vid below and I also have the tube adapter for my nor-vise. also Caddis fly shop has vids on tube flies they also have pro tubes and needles for them a little different than HMH hope this helps out.
