And a shout out must be given to Allen, for turning me on to the Gurgle Pop!

I use size 2 on the Gurgle-Pops I tie for Bass.  I also tie some in size 8, and size 12.  The size 8 is a good all-around size fly, and will catch both sunfish and Bass.  I get A LOT of sunfish hits on my size 2 Gurgle-Pops, but I can't connect with the fish because the hook is to big to get into their mouth.

The size 12 Gurgle-Pops are small enough that they should easily replace the store-bought Betts poppers I've been using.  Not to mention A LOT cheaper than the store-bought!

I make eyes by punching out little discs from white foam sheet - the same stuff you have there. Either use a hole punch or a sharpened piece of small tubing. Attach the discs with silicone or Goop adhesive and add a dot of black paint to the disc.

Your right about that David the eyes have that extra added touch that make them come alive.

Actually, Dick, I've been thinking of tying some poppers... But I believe I'll just work on these.
The options are plenty and its weird, but anything you add eyes to instantly
comes alive.
You're inspired, bud.

The Gurglers your looking at are about an 1 1/4 inch long and your right I think the bass will zero in on them to. I have some smaller one that I haven't went into detail they are plain Jane no eyes no marabou tails just plain.

David it will all in time. You know what they say made it look good and catch a fisherman it may not catch a fish but it caught the person who bought it. But I know in the right time and place it will catch fish. I can see flaws but I only made about a dozen and gave them all away but next ones I'll have to tighten up a little.

The foam I got at Hobby Lobby about a buck for a 12" x 18" sheet and a good color selection. Most the other stuff from Netcraft because they aren't far away. The eyes I got off Ebay.

I also agree, the bass are gonna tear these up.

Great work, Dick!

I tie the Gurgle Pop, without all the frills. No legs, no eyes, no tail. I do add an eye spot on the bottom side, where the fish can see it.

But yours are works of art compared to my pedestrian efforts
