Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Finally got to break this thing in. Our own Walt Foreman built it for me as a specialty BG rod, designed for casting lightweight offerings without any added weight, or float, while still experiencing the awesome fight of a big Bluegill.

It's built on a 2-weight flyrod blank,  but I'll let the builder fill in the rest of the details.......

What I can attest to, is the sheer functionality and beauty of this rod.....

Thanks Walt, looking forward to putting it through it's paces!!

'holding my breath while the bigger fish peel off line'...

I know that scary feeling from a very recent experience on 2 pound test! One day, though, I'm gonna' get burned.

Turned burl-wood handles. OMG, I've died and gone to heaven!

Beeyootiful work, Walt.

Did anyone notice the feathers.......

I DID notice them, Tony. I've thought about making rods, myself. That is one helluva nice touch, Walt.

Thanks, David and Tony!

Hello Walt, ver nice job. Got to love the lathe work.

Thanks, Klr!

 I just joined this forum

mainly because i actually seen this rod while i was googling stuff, Walt Foreman, could you please send me a message or something where maybe we can discuss a build??

I am basically looking for the same thing if this is a 1 piece rod at 6'6"'

I am looking for something like that from that length to maybe 7 foot possibly...

Sorry to everyone about this, but new today on the board and learning  to navigate it now..

I only UL fish myself, bluegills, white bass or whatever that will take my line, But i only use 2 or 4 lb test line only...

No problem, Mike, I'll send you a friend request (the PM function only works between friends on the site), just accept the request and then we can message back and forth.  I can make you a UL one-piece rod that length.

That is one beautiful rod. I am thinking of having Walt make one for me.

                                                                                                  Regards

Thanks for the kind words, Randy!  I'd be more than happy to build you one - just let me know.

Great looking rod Tony -  I see lots of fun in your future.........
