Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I want to try Grass Shrimp as bait for Panfish.  Does anyone know where I can catch my own in the Raleigh North Carolina area or where I can buy lures or bait?  Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Robert

Eagle Claw makes the best freshwater shrimp version in several colors.....the pink/clear combination works the best and the red is also a good choice.....The best grass shrimp lures I've ever seen are homemade, some by tiers on this site.......These Eagle Claw shrimp are sold in rigs of two and I often catch two gills at a time on this rig on the beds......

If you have grass beds in the lakes you fish try a fine mesh scoop net in shallow water next spring......normally less than two feet deep for the best results hunting grass shrimp.......These litte guys can be an inch or so.....just put live ones in ice water to firm them up for fishing......

Hey Robert...check out the tutorials and how to stuff on tying the grass shrimp jig patterns I use on this site...these are very easy, simple lures to master and they are a year round choice for some anglers.
