Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

They look kinda rough, but like anything you get better with practice. I hope the gills like em and they don't just swim off with a mouth full of deer hair. lol

Thanks everyone for your words of encouragement. I hope one day to be able to make some worthy of giving away in a drawing on here. It rained here yesterday so I went looking for some different materials. I found a soft synthetic fiber duster for 1.50 at Family Dollar, and made a couple from it. One was orange and the other was a combination of white bucktail and blue synthetic.  I like blue and white for yellow perch.

Not bad at all! My first attempts were killers only because the fish died laughing at them. You're off to a much better start.

Doing great for first go. Mine looked like a behemoth when I started my first flies.

It's something you perfect with age and from the looks your going to do quite well for yourself.

Thanks Jim.  I was going to try them this afternoon, but it is pouring rain. We need it bad though. Even with the 4" we got a couple of weeks ago, we are still almost 10" low for the year.

Those "red wings" actually started out to be red rubber band legs. lol I guess I did something wrong when I attached them. Back to the videos. lol

One thing you need to remember is that often times the fish will hit the most plain and simple jig as opposed to ones that catch more of the fishermans eye. I bet all of those will catch plenty of fish...good job!
