Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I stepped off in the deep end this weekend, and got a fly tying vice . It was a anniversary present from my wife. I also got a bobbin and threader, some thread, a whip finishing tool, and a deer tail. I thought maybe tying tying some bucktail jigs might be a good place to start, as I have never tied on a real vice before. I have been watching you tube videos on tying jigs, and think I might be able to do it. I will post pics good or bad later.

Nice haha! Is that your workshop Mike?

ROFL!! Mine is still between the 1st and 2nd photo after 6 years. Everything is packed into two 30"x12"x12" utility boxes.

When we bought our place there were two metal buildings on the property. One has a concrete floor, and the other one is nicer one with a wood floor, and it had a old desk in it. I claimed that one as my fishing building. Now I know what I am gonna use that desk for! Thanks for the pics and warning , Mike.

OK Vince how it the tying coming along? anxious to see some pictures. I'm sure you will do fine, just use you imagination  and by all means have fun. Their is allot of help here at BBG

It's been going good, Rick. Right now I am waiting for more materials to arrive. Hope to see them soon. I have tied a few jigs and  foam spiders as well as a couple experimental ( read practice ) bead heads.

Just view all of your photos looks like you had a nice summer and the flies and spiders your tying look great.
