Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Has anyone here used the Berkley Gulp crickets or worms? I normally only use live ones, but wonder if they work anything like the live ones. They look pretty realistic.

i've used the crickets alot; they work too;   i fish them about 18 inches under a small float and just barely give the float a light twitch every few seconds; the worms i havent used but i've been with people fishing that tried them and it wasn't too impressive; hope this helps; good luck

I've used crickets, worms and minnows. they all work but I prefer the crickets and the red wigglers

Some days they will out fish the real thing, some days they just fall flat in their face

I have some of the crickets but haven't tried them yet.

I've caught fish on the Gulp maggots. I've never used real maggots so have no apples-to-apples comparison to make, but I think real redworms outfish Gulp maggots, FWIW.

I've used Gulp worms and have been completely blanked, didn't even get a nibble on them.

I have used a lot of the small gulp baits with great sucess.i have used the crickets and have caught gills on them . some of the best that i have used are the small 1inch leechs and the small 1 inch minnows .seems not to matter what type ,but i usually use the black shad ,the pumpkin seed and the watermelon pearl .these are some of the best artifical baits i have ever used .hope this helps a little

I've used the Gulp! worms, and done a head-to-head test with live BMF Trout and Panfish worms.  The live bait caught more fish than the Gulp!, but the Gulp! doesn't have to be cared for like live bait does.

I have some Gulp! 1" minnows, and I have caught fish on them.  However, I haven't done a head-to-head with them yet.

I'm partial to the Gulp minnows, 1" size in emerald shiner. I've taken several fish on them, AND.... you don't have to worry about introducing an unwanted species into your pond like you would with a real minnow! That's gotta' be worth something!

the 1" minnows work great under a float; i've caught plenty of bass, crappie and bluegill on these. I usually use the "smelt" color. But the chartreuse color works well too. The 2.5 inch and 3 inch versions also work well.
