Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

A trather vague request here men but I'm hoping to luck out with some help!My Brother and favorite fishing partner Greg, gave me one of these 'Shell' spoons .He got two at a garage sale and they look very well made and old.I am trying to find out more about them but there is no company name .Perhaps the brand name was washed off from use.The riveted shell lure is one of neatest looking lures I've ever seen.I am afraid to use and lose it.The materiel is perhaps not real shell but an ivoroid or plastic composite.

Looks home-made to me. The rings should tell you. The pics are fuzzy, so I can't tell.
I wouldn't use them. They are likely collector's items.
cheers.
Thanks for the reply Don!The thing that makes me agree they may be homemade is there is no brand name ...but could they be a prototype or a lure that was considered by a manufacturer.I am dissapointed that only you and me are interested in this discussion! I realize though I stretch things here at bigbluegill.com
Can you take a clearer picture and post it again please?
Sharon-I hope this photo is a little better.

Guess not

Looks kind of like the Dick Knight Spoons, except it's made of shell.  You can buy shell and shape your own (you could, I doubt if I am skilled enough)  LOL

Try posting a picture on one of the antique lure sites...  about the picture.  You need to get a cheep "point and shoot" automatic digital camera.  They all have a "close up" setting. (usually a little yellow flower)  It's great for taking close up pictures of lures in a fishes mouth.

Intriguing lure... How big is it... what size hook does it have... maybe put a dime in the picture beside it,  for size comparison.
