Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Schools of Bluegill and White Perch were fighting over my bait....literally. Was catching them so fast didn't even have time to take pictures of all. Caught a Bullhead at same location - thought it was Black Bullhead, then realized that the chin barbels were white, so I believe it was a Yellow Bullhead.

John - I started out using a black artificial leech with a small Walleye-type rig (double small hook with large reflector) and the White Perch were going bananas over that thing (I actually started out trying to fish for Walleye). The water was getting a bit rough, so I then found a small pool area where the river was calmer and decided to switch to still fishing with a float and nightcrawlers. From then on, the Bluegill and White Perch hit the line on every cast. I could have probably made a lifetime supply of fish sammiches....
