Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

It's been a great fishing year so far

Best year fishing for me ever. To date I have caught 19 different species - the most ever for me. I am off of my Spotted Bass kick that I've had the past couple of years and into the mighty Bowfin. The Bowfins are running wild this year! Seems like the Gars are plentiful also, even though I have not caught one yet. Of course I can always rely on the old trusty Bluegill anytime my heart desires....

If anyone wants a slight change of pace from the usual Bluegill, Channel Catfish or Black Bass outing, head on down to the blackwaters of Georgia and Florida and you will find loads of Warmouth, Spotted Sunfish, Bowfin, and Bullhead Catfish.

I wish I could get that kind of variety here. My numbers are up, but only a handful of species. Great job!

I'm a fan of those "trash fish," you mentioned, like gar and bowfin.
19 species! That's a huge variety.
Congrats!
