My partner fished a 1/64th for a while and was contacting fish but I felt it needed to be at least a 1/32 ounce for hearty Crappie and those were not with me on this trip......Tripp also makes these in a 1/32 ounce variety that has worked great........

Figured out pretty quick yesterday that the fish wanted a smaller bait so I went in the box and pulled out a 1/64th ounce pink powder ball jig with a gold head......added a little soft plastic teaser and a live cricket for the best results......

Here's part of my personal collection of these awesome jigs....

A solid Flier took this jig near bottom in eight feet of water.....

Made contact with several nice crappie beginning to stage at intermediate depths...

Even some big golden shiners had to hit this jig......pretty hard to hook but when they are over 10" it gets a little easier......look at the gut on this egg filled female.....

It's a good sign in my region to start catching gills getting their colors back.....they are pulling out of the deep water.....

Some nice Crappie on the pink powder jig........suspended deep under a quill float on this day fishing in 47 degree water......easier to read the strikes......

And the gills like them too......can't go wrong with this jig.......I will size up to 1/32 ounce once our water temperatures stabilize above 50 degrees........
