I may the decision to start with a strike king crappie thunder jig in Electric Chicken this morning but ended up going back to the pink jelly jig and had another great trip in challenging post cold front conditions.....Crappie will usually hit after a cold front but it's trying to fish them that can become difficult.....We located the fish on the coastal marsh which exposed us to blistering 20 to 25 mph winds with a few higher gusts......We stayed determined and swam the jelly 18" below the quill and were rewarded for our efforts......Dick has created a winning jig and they are hard not to fish....problem is I now own about 10 patterns that I trust this much.....here's a few shots of today's action....

Falling wind tide is always better than an incoming tide when fish are shallow because they will shift out with falling water an intersect your bait along the way.....

The water is still stained a bit in this area but that doesn't hurt colors like pink, chartreuse and olive.....

The bass weren't as active as the last couple trips but we caught several on the jelly jigs.....

We picked up some great fish and missed very few with solid hook sets on this 1/32 ounce class jig.....perfect for river fishing in my opinion......

Here's my standard equipment on the black waters.......

This is what this jig is producing in coastal North Carolina right now......been a great couple weeks since the unveiling of the Tabbert Jellyfish Jigs...........I need a "like" button because these baits are spot on......I haven't seen the durability that these baits possess in commercial lines........

Got back out today and decided to try the white one and it turned out to be a multi species winner....

A nice coppernose........

And several largemouth too.....I tipped with live grass shrimp for the best results today......

Well Dick got me some of the refined Jelly Jigs and I got out yesterday after work for a few hours and these baits are going to be hard to beat....

Some solid crappie on this day on the emerald green pattern......

dicky  its just a lot of fun watching these quill floats take off like a torpedo!!  and your right!!  if it was back in the 60;s  there would be a lot of other colors on them!!  LOL  hippie style!!

Man I'm glad it ain't the 60's hard telling what color wouldn't be on them.

Gotta love it them quills they are something else. I don't fish floats as a general rule but I'm excited to try Carl's floats they are top notch.

Sure thing Dick.......if you hear of an earthquake in coastal Carolina don't be alarmed.....it might just be those big coopers waking up to crush a  freshwater jelly jig.........And I'll have my UV glasses on so the vibrant quills won't blind me as I anticipate the strike from below!

OK Jeffrey glad the Freshwater Jellys made it there OK. I'm thinking them floats will compliment them jigs they look good together. Carl does make some great looking floats can't wait to try mine out.
