Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Hi there. My name is Dick Tabbert. I know some of you from Big Bluegill here and have a favor to ask of you. I started wood carving probably 30 years ago at which time I carved mostly birds and ducks and after 10 years not having enough time I put up the knives and gouges. Now that I'm in Big Bluegill and retired and starting to see some of these fantastic photo's that your posting I'm thinking that It's really time to get back into it. I see lots of great references material out there you think photo I think reference material with some of your very clear, sharp and crisp photo's that your posting it's really got me pumped. I started a crappie 20 years ago so I think that's what I really need to finish first. Lots of things are getting me fired up again. I talked to Don Patton about his crappie and I'll tell you it's really hard to paint a crappie or any fish as far as that goes and make it look real but Don does do some good work. I'll do my carving first and work on the painting part later. Any carver will tell you it's hard to carve a figure, duck or bird after weeks of work or more into it that now is a good possibility of messing it up at the painting process. I'll try to hone my fish painting skills later. Anyway what I need is pictures of fish crappies, bluegill, sunfish any pan fish in different profiles. I think the front of the fish will be the most important lips, eyes, mouth open, mouth shut this will help me carve the head which will be the most challenging part of the fish to do. Then maybe some full views even close ups of the fish for the color and carving in of the scales. Thank you very much for your time and a great Big Bluegill site we have to enjoy and participate in.

Thank you 2lbgill for the come back. I realize that there are lots of great photo's in the photo section that's one of the reasons I want to get going again i'm getting pumped I want to get the knives and gouges going again.  But I done it this way so there would be no problems like me copying a photo without permission. If it is sent to me then I feel like I have there permission to use it for my references. I'm sure its not a big deal to most but it only takes one person to get upset and I don't want to upset any one person after all it really is there picture. Hope you understand where I'm coming from. Thank you much and GOOD FISHIN..
