I see some of the jigs that you are using, they look good. I think you would love my bream reaper jig! Check them out on my page here, www.thebreamreaper.co, or my ebay store crazy4bream. I nedd to come out to cali and try it out. Do you keep most of your catch?
No I haven't really fished for BG in winter. I would if I had a boat tho lol. Super excited for spring though. I plan on catching the redear spawn as well as bluegill.
Thanks for turning me to the sickle type jigs and hooks. Got my batch today, and they got deadly straight out of the bag. Drew my blood during examination of the batch. This is like a hybrid between circle hooks and the Owner's wide gap jigs. Intimidating, to say the least.
Hey LH, I was checking out your tube hackle jigs on jigcraft and i was curious, do you tip them with anything or do you fish them plain, and also how do they work on bluegill???
I hope you can send the reef gill out to me and possibly another to add to the box.
It would be very interesting to see one of those west coast gills up close.
It's good you froze it in a towel. If you didn't already, wet the towel again and refreeze it in 2 sealed plastic bags. This will keep it in good condition.
Hope the medical issues work out, LH. I am bouncing back and forth from fall bluegilling to big carp adventures. The local carp mafia guys claim that it is big fish time right up to ice-up.
Man...if I ever get my act together ( like, that's gonna happen!) I'll buy that ticket and make my way to Perris. I don't have to catch one of the balloonish two-pounders...I just want to fish in that environment and chum it up with you guys!
I tied 2 this morming,1 chartreuse and 1 clear sparkle 1/64 oz.Itried the chartreuse tipeed with a couple maggots in a pond earlier this evening.I caught 6 gills and 1 crappie and missed a few others.I was using my flyrod for awhile before switching over to the jig.

LedHed, do you sell those jigs,? I'm assuming you tie your own. If you buy them, where?
