Hey Greg... good to hear from you, Bud! Is that PL in your pictures? I don't think I have ever seen it that full. I bet its fishing great! Is this weather we are having AWESOME or what ?
I sure miss fishing P-city lake. When I lived in Claremore we would drive out and fish several times a month. Its nearly three and a half hours from the house now. I have some vacation days coming this summer. We plan to paint the house but I hope to break out three days or so to come up and camp/fish. I have been exploring an area south of me. The stream system is near Tishomingo, OK. Pennington Creek has some good Smallmouth Bass. I hope to have a better report and photos soon.
Thank-you for the concern... we are doing ok. Some shingle damage and a fair size branch off of the front yard oak. Without power for a short time. We are MUCH better off than many others. We got through all three storms. My Emergency Response Team was called in to Moore after the second bad storm and into North Norman after the third. The first storm that went into Little Axe missed us by a hair as well.
Sorry for the long time before the reply. Been busy with work and the ERT. We have been assisting the Red Cross with supplies and unloading trucks.
Hey Greg...don't believe that I posted my final count. Total fish were 2129, with I think like 1700 were panfish. I thought I was doing good until I asked Jeffrey what his count was...sheeeesh! Like over 4000 in his boat in 2012! Wow!
Greg I have a question regarding my fly line. When I cast out the small popper I can see the fly line start to sink and then it sinks my popper. Do I need new line or am I doing something wrong.
Hey Grey. I glue two colors of foam together then cut the foam to 1/8 strips. Lay down a layer of thread and start tying the foam at the bend of the hook. Make two or three sections of body and when you get half way on the shank I use a little super glue on the front half. Split the hook shank again and make another wrap and add the deer hair wing. Fold the foam behind the hook eye and tie in at the same place you tied the hair on the hook. Then use two rubber legs on each side of the body and cut to length. Here is a better pic. If you need more pics let me know.
thanks the spark bug was the first one that really caught my eye its a really cool looking fly. what hook did you use? and have you had the most luck with the chartreuse and black or tried any other colors?
Hey Greg that hybrid electric chicken that you posted a pic of in the crappie fly rodders group, where can I find tying instructions for that? and how do you make the krystal flash collar on the spark plug?
Greg I did find a reel in the barn unused unopen. It is a Cortland Carisma 4-6 what exactly that's means I don't know. I do nee some line so next time I'm at Bass Pro or Cabela's I'll get some 5wt line. Then reality will set in when no tree on the property will be safe. Keep in touch and I honor your opinion that's why I asked all then hard questions and you come up with all them useful answers.
LMAO! Remember, every fisherman's tale, or BS, has hints of experiences and truth, which become very useful. There was one person that use the saying, "You can't make an info sandwich with just a few crumbs. If you search long and hard enough, all those crumbs get mushed together, you'll get a hell of a sandwich.." LOL

You must be a boater, floattuber or kayaker if you fish the mines. Only way you can fish them.
Thanks for the come back. I was looking at a 2WT Diamondback fly rod 8'
Greg what kind of weights can I fly fish with on a 2WT. I don't even have the 4WT down and looking for a 2WT.
