Hi John, are you the person that asked me about smoking the Chubs? I'm new to this website & I don't really know how to reply. I hope this is right. I can tell exactly how to smoke Fish & Chicken. Why don't you email me directly, Tom---gofish1117@sbcglobal.net

John

Just saw your comment to me about "Where is Oxford?" It's right on Route 12 about 30 miles northeast of Binghamton and 7 miles west of Norwich, NY. I lived in Jersey most of my life, then Maine for a number of years and now upstate New York. I divide my time equally between early season trout and then bass and gills. I'm only about 60 miles from the Catskill streams and there are plenty of lakes and ponds around my area for warmwater fishing. Gills have always been a favorite of mine since I was a kid, especially on top with dry flies.

Yes John....it is the 1/8 oz RFS....most of the big gills are in 16-20 ft, and they are suckers for this spoon

OK John when using spinning tackle I use an ultralight st. croix, or on big rivers like the upper Potomac or Shenandoah I've use a medium action Ugly Stik with braided spider wire 10# test with mono leaders, Mepps spinners, Texas rigged worms and grubs. I also like to use anything that looks like a crayfish. Oh yeah, the Ugly Stik I use is 7'.
