NEW SPOT IN STATE PARK LIKE A TROUT POND FOR BASS - LOST TRACK OF HOW MANY IN 2-1/2 HOURS

THOUGHT IF THERE WERE THIS MANY BASS, THEY WOULD KEEP THE DINKY BLUEGILLS IN CHECK. MAYBE, FISHED MORE THAN  I THINK. PUMPKINSEEDS ARE BIGGER THAN GILLS. CAUGHT A FAT 11" BULLHEAD. STILL HAVE A LOT OF GREAT SPOTS TO CHECK OUT. LONG STRETCHES OF  LILLYPADS. DO GILLS LIKE LILLYPADS IN THE SUMMER? LAKE IS VERY WEEDY, WITH SOME SHALLOW HUMPS IN THE MIDDLE. GREAT LAKE TO WADE AS THERE IS A POINT IN THE MIDDLE WERE IT IS SHALLOW ENOUGH TO ACROSS, SO I CAN FISH PARALLEL TO 1 BANKS AND BOTH SIDES OF THE POINT. I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FISH AS DEEP AS POSSIBLE. NEED TO TRY & FIND DEPTH CHARTS. HAVE ANOTHER SHORELINE TO CHECK OUT WERE I SAW GILLS SURFACING. VERY LIKELY THE NEAREST TO DEEP WATER. KEPT 1-14" CAUGHT ON K&E PURPLE & WHITE  WORM. DON'T FORGET TO USE A SWIVEL. LEARNED LAST WEEK WHAT LINE TWIST WAS IN A HURRY. THE SMALLMOUTH I CAUGHT THE DAY BEFORE. BEEN CATCHING A LOT OF BASS USING MY GOOFY SYSTEM WITH 3 PRERIGGED GOLD ABERDEEN #6 HOOKS & A SMALL SINKER ON BOTTOM. STILL CAUGHT 3 DINKS AT ONCE. LOOKS LIKE A SCHOOL OF MINNOWS WHEN IT HITS THE SURFACE. GOING TO TRY MORE BOBBER FISHING NEXT TIME. STILL LOOKING FOR WALLEYE PLANTED.

FOUND OUT SOME ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ON THE DEPTH OF THE WATER I WAS FISHING, WHERE I CAUGHT 10+ BASS IN 2-1/2 HOURS + A LOT OF BLUEGILL & PUMPKINSEEDS. KEY SEEMED TO BE FINDING 10' DEEP WEEDY BAYS WITH SHARP DROPOFFS FROM SHALLOW WATER . AREAS WITH TOO LARGE A SHALLOW FLAT UNPRODUCTIVE. EVEN WITH VERY DEEP WATER NEARBY.  THIS IS PROBABLY A GROSS OVERSIMPLIFICATION WITH SOME DEPTHS ESTIMATED AT 10', IT IS EASIER TO FISH A CONSISTENT DEPTH ANYWAY. TRIED TO BOTTOM FISH(UP TO 4' OFF BOTTOM) IN A DEEP HOLE WITH NO SUCCESS. FUN & PRODUCTIVE TO LOOK AT MAPS. CAUGHT A MIX OF SIZE GILLS.
