Do you love big bluegill?
Finally got out with my new Greys Stremflex 10' , 2wt. Fly rod!!!!! Mid tip flex, single foot snake guides.... Not sure if it is the best I have, but spent more on it than the rest of them!!!!!!!! Traveled clear up north about 3.5 miles to the company pond and made a few discoveries there in the process!!!!!!!
Started with sinking line and pink cricket with Betty Grable legs!!!!!!
The rod casts like a DREAM!!!!!! First to the boat was green sunfish!!!!!!!!
with a small bass soon to follow!!!!!!
Went to the heavier Spoon fly handled it really well, with a spoon fed Crappie taking it!!!!!
The BlueGill in this pond are few and far between!!! I transplanted 4 males and 1 female several years ago, was having trouble catching one when a helper showed up and started pointing them out!!!!!I caught a dozen small females on small Zug Bug!!!!!
One small male!!!!!!! These are smaller than what was placed here!!!!!!! :-)
The big surprise was the last little guy I caught!!!!! The same time the Gill were placed here One male and one female redear came here to live!!!!! They were both 7" fish!!!!!!
I am going to love this rod and thank you Jim from BIG CARP TACKLE!!!!!!! I love the feel of new Cork but the plastic shall remain on the Handle til I catch an 8.5" or 9" BLUEGILL or REDEAR!!!!!!!!
Comment
David, I love the rod!!!!! Just need to get a NICE GILL or Redear to test it!!!!!!
GREAT PICS ONE AN ALL and I'll bet that long 2 weight was a blast!
I heard of alot of good thing's about the Ross Evolution even the Sage 1800 series.
Great job with the new fly rod Greg. Looks like you got a little variety.
Angelo, I haven't decided yet!!!!! I have a bass pro reel on for checking it out and will probably go with it , I also have an orvis ree that balances it pretty good!!!!! 'I will let you know the final outcome!!!!!!
Any suggestions?????
