Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Guys this little item is a must if you are fishing larger ponds and small lakes. I am talking about my Pelican Raider 8 ft. pontoon boat. Two individuals’ can fish comfortable with room for your tackle. The seats can slide forward and backward depending on how much leg room one needs. I decided to add an anchor in case I am in wind and need to set up at one particular place. I am using it with a 30 lb. thrust Min-Kota trolling motor. I even added a portable deep finder which is really handy fishing a lake or pond for the first time. I was debating on getting an aluminum boat, but I decided against it because I wanted a boat that would cut down on noise and this little boat fits the ticket. Only weights 50 lbs. and extremely easy to load and unload. Has anyone out there used this boat?

Mine is not a Pelican, it's a Bass Baby. Here is how I haul it. The seat rides in my backseat and snaps right in at the lake.

I bought it because of the wheels, I did good!!!!!!

That is manageable even for me. Thanks

The Pelican is only about 80 lbs and 8 ft long. I transport it using either a 8 ft trailer or in the bed of my nissian frontier where it fits perfect.

Someone mentioned the ease of putting it in the lake. How much does it weigh? How ar e you transporting it?

I agree with you, I would rather use this little boat than an aluminum boat any day. I have landed over 200 bluegill using this little boat this year

This is a great little boat. I changed the seats to padded seats for comfort and it made a big difference. I added a anchor to keep from drifting when I find a hotspot. Two people can fish very easy in this boat. The boat is so light and easy to handle. You can get into spots that other crafts find hard going. With my Min-Kota 30lb thrush trolling motor i can cruise most lakes and ponds for hours. I wouldnt trade this boat for anything.

Hi Bill
I hope to keep mine until I can't go anymore, and I hope that is years and years from now.

It looks like an awsome little boat. I used one a few years ago,and it worked out really good. Wonder if I can put my 150 Johnson, Probably not. Have fun with your boat.

Guys
The main reason I love this little boat as I stated is the lightness, and noise free movement of it. I am going to try it down one of our local rivers in the summer and see how it performs there. I think it will be fine if I use my anchor to stop me in faster water, or use the anchor just to fish a good looking spot. All in all it is the perfect little boat for one person and two for 3 or 4 hours.

I have only owned one boat in my life...and this is it.

It's been great for use in ponds. I've fished two people out of it with reasonable success, but prefer it as a one man craft for the most part. It was economical, and has been reliable.
