Big Bluegill Sighting

I was taking a hike through a park yesterday with the woman, when we came to a pond (with a "no fishing" policy-which is fine) and walked out on to a small bridge. Along with a few turtles there were quite a few nice size gill's hovering about. I assume because people feed them, although there is a "no feeding" policy as well. I usually don't start fishing in earnest until May here in northern Ohio because I haven't had that much luck going any earlier. This has got me wondering if the warm…

Catch and release?

Hi, I'm new here. Seems like a real nice site. Do you keep most of your catch when you go panfishing? Or do you do catch and release? I'm going tomorrow and really don't feel like cleaning fish so I'll be throwing back. I'm sure I'll be getting nice fish as a result!

What kinds of baits do you use for the perch in Lake Erie. I use huky jerks pretty much exclusively but I have a few tips that may produce something bigger for you if there around there.

Well that is very interesting,I will have to look and see if we have something like that here cos if I lived in Ohio I am a master perch angler. If you lived or ever came through here at the right time Of year I would gladly show you how to catch those tasty bruisers.I also caught 2 at least 14's this year too. I really want a 17' tho, that would be the perch of a lifetime.

What is a fish Ohio? Is this some sort of master angler program? I dont think 13 would qualify here maybe out of an inland lake,They get as big as 15 or more in lake Michigan here, I dont think Wi has a master angler program.

Yeah, but because of my older looks, I could drive, drink beer and date my good looking women teachers when my friends were just dreaming about it. Whoops, we're kinda getting off-topic and anyway I have to admit that all my women teachers looked like George Washington.

Actually, on reflection, I was always big for my age so I suppose I was about 12 when that pic was taken!

Good one! I am obviously disguised as an old grizzled bass fisherman in several of these pics!
