I'm glad you got a chance to test drive them and they are working for you. I like you see no reason why they wouldn't work throughout the whole year unless larger bait might prevail. Sometimes size does matter as well as color and even presentation. Keep me updated if you would and good luck on the ice.

I have had the honor of ice fishing with some of Dicks jigs recently, and I cannot even begin to explain the workmanship, detail, that he puts into them!! I have caught some ten inchers so far with his work, and winter is not even close to being over yet!! also I believe these will be awesome come summer time! cannot wait. thanks again Dick

Thanks Mark. Easy to make if you got the right stuff. Longest part making this grub is wrapping the lead on the hook shank.

Dick is a humble bug creator........I've caught thousands of fish from ten different species on his work......shrimp patterns and the jelly jigs have been top shelf and very durable.......a cornerstone of his work.........if you have fished any of his work you know what I'm talking about........

Hi Bill. A musky skirt the best way I can explain it is if you know what a spinnerbait skirt is the skirt on a spinnerbait which encompasses the hook. It is silicone or rubber, a musky skirt is just larger the diameter of the tentacles is larger and longer.

Thanks Jim. I was thinking a nice fat waxy and should be good to go. I did make some more in depth flies and like you said vary time consuming. All my ice flies do glow in the dark for them dark snow covered lakes.

tip these with a spike and you wont be able to tell the spike from the fly.i like the way you keep it simple enough so the quality of your bugs stays high dick.i use to try to tie fancy flies that were pleasing to me and caught fish but were too delicate and complicated and time consuming.now i break one off i got 10 more in my bag and can make a couple dz in an hour.
