Thanks Adam and Dick.....In my opinion Dick, you could find folks that would pick all different types of sunfish for the best fight......Coppernose are my favorite and what a challenge the big bruisers can offer in shallow and grassy environments.....I've caught two pound class redears that didn't fight as hard as a 12" copper, but there again I haven't caught a big hybrid which from all accounts is a great battle......We're approaching May and I purposely shift over to spin casting gear for the thrill of long casts and the subsequent battles with trophy class coppernose....pretty fun to catch gills that are taking drag out whatever the case may be.....

Great looking copper. Jeffrey being as we don't have coppers in this region I was wondering do the coppers fight harder than a gill of the same size.
