Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

My best so far this year. These fish are rare in my region, so this one went back for fatherly duties.

Thanks guys...been sight fishing for these males that have just now gone to roost. Tedious, frustrating fishing at times for 13 to 15 in class slabs that can see you as well as you can see them. Amazing to watch them, then 'try' to catch them with a well placed garden worm on a #8 hook which, more often than not, they will ignore. Dillegent, sneeky and quiet efforts allow for hard-earned success. It's not for everyone!

But extremely challenging!

Trophy Black Jim....Congrats.......Mr. Crappie would be jealous of this one..............and releasing the fish is admirable!

Outstanding fish, Jim. Great-looking colors in spawning mode.
