Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Only had a total of six Crappie today so all were released including the Big Fish of the Day...13 inches....Nice end to 2011

Jeff, he is a black. I was like you only used color, now I count fins and color. Right when I think I had it down pat, they throw in hybrid and or grays.

I believe this is a Black Crappie with the seven Dorsal Spines........I use to think it was color only that distinguished Black or White Crappie but have learned the differences over the years.....

It was fun catching him and rewarding to see him shake his head and dive back to the depths to grow a couple inches.....That's the plan anyways....Thanks Eric!
