well once i learn what I need and can get some of it I will try something like that
I am tying on a folding TV table, and store my materials in stacking snap together plastic boxes from wally world. I have to fold everything up and store it, when we have someone staying in this spare bedroom. It seem to work well for now.
I clamp my vise on the table. All my stuff is in three plastic totes on a nearby lamp table. I just grab what I need to produce the pattern of the day, go to the table, and start tying. I have to be careful with feathers. The kitties like feathers and bucktails.
right now I clamp my vise to the computer desk and keep my supplies in an old sewing box and a cardboard box , I take it down after every use
I have NO IDEA where I will be able to do this.. I will have to be mobile and very organized i guess.. I will have ot use the kitchen table and remove it all when i am done everytime...
Allen I may have you beat there. I use the dining room table and have it all to myself but come a holiday I have to clear it all out and put it in the garage matter of fact that's where everything is now. We Easter this weekend and we have company coming from Florida Tuesday so I have to wait til Wednesday to bring it back in. It an inconvenience but nothing we can work around.
My fly-tying bench is both bigger and smaller at the same time. I tie on the kitchen table. However, we have a bunch of other stuff on the table, usually, so my effective usable area is maybe 4 - 6 sq. ft.
So this is what I have to look forward to... ? I can't wait I am deffinatley gonna be a fly creator! lol
I see nothing wrong here..nothing..nothing at all. No wonder you come up with so many creative designs. This like is an isolate den to block out everything and channel everything to create the craftiest flies. Can't say the same for Rex, Mike Chell, Rick, and Tooty. Those guys got so much room to play with, we might as well expect them to create a fly that can catch a killer whale or a great white.
