Do you love big bluegill?
Just a little chenille bug with a tuft of grey feather for a "wing" - #8 hook. Red w/ gold sparkle chenille.
The gill hit it on the strip retrieve. This time of year, they like a bait that's got movement. Several other caught, same MO:
CAST, SPLASHDOWN, COUNT "TWO" AND STRIP.
FAVORED COLORS: Tan/white, red/grey. Random-ness.
The Summer Sun gets up quick here in SC and by 10am, gill bite slowed as they retreated to deep water.

Similar conditions in the other Carolina this morning.....the heat and humidity took over by 9:30 and water temps shot up to the high 80s by 11:30 when I surrendered.....Nice report David...
It's always fun to catch something on our flies make's it all good.
