Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

I fished this pattern today for the first time and man what a bait.....Over 60 gills in two hours...Friend fished a plain cricket and I caught 3 to 1 with this bait tipped with a live cricket.....

I truly believe the dark water makes a difference Leo....I fish some clear bar pits in this region that have big gills with different results.......It's always trial and error for sure.....

?!! WUAH?! BG there are not fussy eaters like the ones we have over here. I tried that same one too. I got only H2O.

I couldn't agree more Rex....my waters are the darkest I've ever seen anywhere and the flash matters.......

I'm a big believer in holograghic flash, which that body looks like.  I have fished patterns that didn't have any and you would catch one here or there.  Then fish the same pattern with a touch of holoflash and it would be almost every cast you would catch one.  Think it really comes into play in darker stained waters.

Tip these guys and you're on to soemthing special.......I fish them on rod n' reel as well as my telescopic poles with great success......The one on the right has caught about 60 fish and still looks great, and this included some really fine Coppernose gills.....
