Jeffrey that poor gill looks awfully lonely. Water still a bit cool yet. We been having cold front the last week here. Glad to see you catching something.

We've been very fortunate the entire weekend and through today Jim.....tomorrow looks like a washout but we have dodged the real cold air this week and that has allowed for water temperatures to moderate and the bite improved three days in a row.....

Man...I'm jealous! It's 29 here with snow and freezing rain. Sheeesh!

Thanks guys......I truly believe to improve our chances of catching trophy panfish we have to consider releasing some of the larger fish......In my humble opinion, 8 to 11 inch Crappie are the best tasting anyway.....I've now caught crappie on these same creeks every year since 1999.......quality and numbers so I believe in the Select Harvest method.......We have an 8" minimum in my region of North Carolina on most bodies of water and a 20 fish limit.......

Nice catch and I love your style releasing the big ones.

Nice catch Jeffery. Awesome colors and with the crappie running up to spawn the bite keeps getting better. Congrats on the catch.

Thanks Tooty....I released a dozen Crappie over 12" today...the sows are coming shallow to spawn.....limit is 20 in North Carolina so I kept 20 10-12 inch fish out of the 39 I caught this afternoon......What a great three days fishing considering the forecast has been tricky with a frontal boundary just 30 to 50 miles either side of us.......It has been heavy overcast even foggy this afternoon for the last three days.....
