Bluegill - Big Bluegill

Do you love big bluegill?

Skim ice on the ponds this morning, and frogs peeping this evening....

10-1/4" and 21 ozs. Caught 10 today, a couple in the morning and the rest right before dark. This was BFOD

And......the start of a resolution. I will post no further photos of HBG caught by me unless they are a new pond record.. I'll post photos of the boys from time to time, and I may include photos in blogs or discussions, but no more stand alone HBG pics unless they are a personal best.

Nice - real nice. What did you catch him on?

Whatchaketchumon?

Aw, Tony...I'd reconsider that posting big beautiful hybrids thing. Most of us don't get to see stunning fish like these...we'll be starving for HBG photos!

What a great hybrid, Tony! I will be looking for a pic of you with a new pond record next. It was 73 here today, and as bad as I wanted to,  I couldn't get out to fish this evening. Maybe tomorrow if the weather man is wrong with his prediction of heavy rain and high winds.

Open water. As of this evening, we are ice free. I had frogs hollering, and a handful of bats were making my life miserable by attacking my line and diving on my float. Fish were ON, though.....

These hybrids are always fun to see Tony.....hopefully we'll see that personal best or a pond record this year!

Tony...through the ice or open water? It was 68 here today, going to 72 tomorrow! Crazy!
